Day 1: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park with a rhino tracking experience en-route

On your journey of 5-6 hours which takes you from Kampala along the Gulu highway, you will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. Get to a hotel in Masindi for lunch then drive 85kms to Murchison Falls via Kichumbanyobo gate. Go visit the top of the falls then continue to your booked lodge.

Day 2 of 10 Days Best of Uganda Safari: Game drive & boat cruise to the bottom of the mighty Murchison Falls

After breakfast, you will engage in a game drive in your main Destination-Murchison Falls National Park. This activity involves you spotting numerous wildlife such as lions, Rothschild giraffes, antelopes, warthogs, elephants, leopards, and birds.

Return after a 3-4 hours game drive in a full-size 4×4 Land Cruiser or 4×4 Safari Van with a pop-up. You will undertake a 2-3 hours launch cruise towards the falls with the opportunity to spot crocodiles as they bask on river banks, hippos, birds, and other species.

Game drive the early morning after breakfast and this takes you via Kasenyi Plains. You catch sight of African bush elephants, leopards, antelopes, birds, buffaloes, and lions. Have lunch at the lodge after a 3-4 hours game drive and later, take part in a launch cruise along Kazinga Channel.

Depending on the region (Bwindi has 4 gorilla sectors; Buhoma, Rushaga, Ruhija, and Nkuringo), you will be assigned to a habituated gorilla family to track starting at 8:00 am. Trekking gorillas takes about 2-6 hours and it covers a maximum of 1 hour of face-to-face encounters. You also have the opportunity to enjoy a Batwa cultural experience.
